Taylor Family YMCA launches annual campaign to support community needs

Every day, the Taylor Family YMCA in Elgin works to support the people and neighborhoods that need it most by addressing community issues, such as school readiness, chronic disease prevention, and healthy living programs. So much more is possible with you support.

"Throughout our communities, countless people know the 'the Y.' But there's so much more to our Y than one might think," said Dave Burisek, executive director at the Taylor Family YMCA. "The Y is more than a gym. It's a cause. As a charity, we're dedicated to nurturing the potential of every child and teen, improving the nation's health and well-being, and giving back and providing support to our neighbors."

This year, the Taylor Family YMCA hopes to raise $60,000. Funds raised will support healthy living programs, summer day camp, after school programs, senior fitness, the LIVESTRONG cancer survivor program, and memberships for those in the community who would otherwise not be able to afford to join the Y. In addition, some of the funds will go toward much needed updates in facilities and equipment at the branch.

Last year, charitable gifts from YMCA donors made it possible for kids to have a safe place to learn and build confidence after school, and for families to reconnect and grow together. Give today and together we can do so much more!
