Streamwood taking orders for parkways trees until Feb. 27

The village of Streamwood is offering residents a discount on parkway trees that will be planted for the spring season.

Eight species are available, starting at $120. The village and residents split, 50/50, the cost of the trees, all about 2 inches in diameter.

Residents can buy up to three parkway trees. They have to pay a $25 fee per tree for those planted on private property.

A nursery contractor is expected to plant the trees the end of April through June.

Order forms - available at Streamwood.org - and checks - payable to the village of Streamwood - must be received by Friday, Feb. 27.
