Fox Valley Crisis Line seeks volunteers

Do you have good communication skills and enjoy helping people?

The Crisis Line of the Fox Valley is looking for candidates for the spring training session.

The current economic downturn has created increasing levels of stress, anxiety, and depression for persons in the community. This has translated into greater need for Crisis Line support.

A free, 10-week Crisis Line training is scheduled to begin Thursday, March 12.

The classes will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursdays at the Association for Individual Development Behavioral Health site, 1230 N. Highland Ave., Aurora.

This class prepares individuals to volunteer on the Crisis Line and focuses on issues pertinent to crisis calls such as crisis intervention, mental illness, suicide, domestic violence and sexual assault, alcohol and drug abuse, and community resources.

To register, or for questions, call Cheryl at (630) 966-4304. Visit www.the-association.org/crisis_community_outreach.html.
