Hawks to honor Mike Spellman with moment of silence Monday
The Blackhawks will honor beloved sports writer Mike Spellman with a moment of silence at Monday's game at the United Center. Spellman had covered the Blackhawks since the 2014 death of veteran sports writer Tim Sassone.
A collection to support a special scholarship also is under way, and donations may be sent to: Saint Viator High School in care of the Michael Spellman Scholarship Fund, 1213 E. Oakton St., Arlington Heights, IL 60004.
