Innovations Academy Celebrates our Students and National School Choice Week

Innovations Academy celebrated National School Choice Week by acknowledging and celebrating their students' accomplishments with an end of the semester school-wide assembly, sponsored by the PBIS team (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports). The goal of National School Choice Week is to shine a positive spotlight on effective education options for all students. At the assembly, each student had the opportunity to bid on items with the points they had earned first semester. Nobody went home empty handed! All students were given a yellow scarf to let them know we are happy and appreciative their school choice is Innovations Academy.

To kick off second semester at Innovations Academy, the PBIS team is focusing on all of our students practicing and using respectful language. To help accomplish this goal, each time a student uses respectful language, Innovations staff initials or punches their Respectful Language Card. When the student's card is filled it is entered into a drawing at the end of February. In addition, our staff scans this data through the C.A.R.E.S scangraphix data gathering system. Our school goal for February is 100 respectful language scans. As a visual representation for students and staff, each time a student uses respectful language a football is moved closer to the "respectful language end zone." Providing this type of goal helps bring positive attention and reinforcement to the PBIS goal of creating respect throughout our school.
