Woman in labor during blizzard rushed to hospital

A woman in labor whose car ran off the road during blizzard conditions Sunday night is being rushed to the hospital in an ambulance with a snow plow escort.

Lt. Matt Hanson of the Elburn and Countryside Fire Protection District said the woman, who has not been identified by officials, had not yet had her baby when first responders rescued her from her vehicle.

Christopher King, the senior manager of public relations at Cadence Health, said he was not able to release any information on the woman's status, or if she had delivered her baby or not, because of patient privacy rules.
