Believe Project: $100 to help family of twins with ongoing health problems

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Trudy Lewis of Des Plaines.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"I would donate the $100 gift to the Anderson family of Streamwood.

I first met Guilianna Anderson when she was in the neonatal intensive care unit at Advocate Children's Hospital in 2011. Guilianna and her twin sister, Graciela, were born at 32 weeks; Guilianna weighed less than 2 pounds and was in the NICU for 10 months. Guilianna had a large part of her small intestine removed due to an infection and now has short gut syndrome. At 3½ years old, Guilianna is still being fed by a tube, requires more than 25 diapers a day and has vision and hearing problems. She may now need an intestinal transplant. Their parents are committed to providing the best possible life for them, but Guilianna's situation is costly, and the $100 would sure help out."

• The Believe Project will mail a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else. Email us your pitch of 100 words or fewer (include your name, address and hometown) to specialevents@dailyherald.com.
