Jim Haslett out as Redskins' defensive coordinator
ASHBURN, Va. (AP) - Jim Haslett is out after five seasons as defensive coordinator with the Washington Redskins.
The Redskins say in a news release Wednesday that the team and Haslett "have mutually agreed to part ways."
It's the first fallout after the Redskins finished 4-12 for their sixth last-place finish in the past seven seasons.
In Haslett's five seasons with Washington - four under head coach Mike Shanahan, and one under Jay Gruden - the Redskins ranked no better than 20th in the 32-team NFL in points allowed, including 30th and 29th the past two years.
General manager Bruce Allen is scheduled to hold a news conference later Wednesday.
