Bears Bites: Make us believe again
OK, George, the microphone is yours.
Make it happen.
Make today a turning point in franchise history.
Because:
From the opener against Buffalo to the season-ender in Minnesota, this has been more than a lost season.
This has been a disaster, top to bottom.
Make us believe again.
Not all is lost, however:
Yeah, the Bears lost 13-9 to a bad Vikings team and finished the season 5-11. But there is a huge bright spot: They have the seventh pick in the draft.
Now the big question:
Who will be making that pick?
Why oh why:
Can't “News Conference Jay” be “Field Marshal Jay,” too?
Bad omen:
When the first shot you see of Cutler on Sunday is him sitting alone on the bench already in full frumpy-face mode before the game, you know that can't be good.
And it wasn't.
The quote:
“An amoeba has more enthusiasm than him.”
— WSCR's Ed O'Bradovich on Cutler
Borderline amusing:
Former Bear Corey Wootton breaking out “the robot” sack dance.
A conclusion:
There may not be anyone better at arriving one second too late to the scene of a made tackle than Shea McClellin.
It's a gift.
Was anybody else:
Waiting for Dick Stockton to refer to No. 17 as Adolfo Jefferies?
After all, this is the same guy who referred to midfield as “halftime.”
Question:
Anyone else hungry for a Yumbo sandwich?
Just to be clear:
Marc Trestman is the only man in the land who thinks he'll be back next season, right?
Right?
And, finally, warm thoughts:
