An overnight celebration honoring Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, began with an opening Mass on Thursday, December 11, at 6 p.m., celebrated by Fr. Marco A. Mercado, Archbishop's Delegate for Hispanic Ministry and Rector, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Des Plaines and ends with a closing Mass at 7 p.m. on Friday, December 12. Archbishop Blase J. Cupich was the main celebrant at the 12:30 a.m. Mass on Friday, December 12.
