Cook poll workers honored for dedication

Cook County Clerk David Orr on Monday honored "the best of the best" suburban Cook County poll workers for their dedication, hard work, and depth of election knowledge. Of nearly 10,000 suburban poll workers, about 70 were selected for special recognition and invited to attend the ceremony.

Susan Tesnow, who has worked in Precinct 7 in Palatine Township for approximately the past 13 years, said, "We're just a well-oiled machine" in her polling place. "We work together as a team."

Among others honored were these from the Northwest suburbs: Heidi Keller and Sandra Mueller from Barrington Township; Michael Shrader and Rasmin Pandya from Elk Grove Township; Thalia Robles and Shameka Turner from Hanover Township; Rekha Patel and Garland Watts from Maine Township; Wesley Moore and Tesnow from Palatine Township; Mary Myzia and John Brey from Schaumburg Township; and Dana Albers, Ora Poole, Nancy Carollo and Jonathan Scott Bordner from Wheeling Township.
