Asian Kitchen restaurant opens in Schaumburg

Asian Kitchen, a new fast-casual Indo-Chinese restaurant, opened late last week in Schaumburg's Shoppes in the Prime Village shopping center at the northeast corner of Algonquin and Meacham roads.

Owners Niral and Pinki Patel said nothing is pre-made and orders can be customized to add patrons' favorite vegetables and spices. The restaurant is aimed at the lunch and dinner crowds, as well as take-out.

The Patels previously operated a full-service dining room restaurant with a bar, but recognized that the culture has changed and people's lives have become busier with their kids' activities.

Because most people no longer want to spend two hours at a Chinese restaurant, the Patels said they decided to offer the same high-quality cuisine in a fast-casual environment.
