Kaneland names new asst. principal at elementary school

The Kaneland Unit District 302 board of education is pleased to announce the appointment of Kathy Webster to be .5 Assistant Principal at Kaneland John Stewart Elementary School for the 2014-15 school year.

She was selected from a pool of over 21 applicants and has previously been an educator in the St. Charles district for nine years.

Webster completed her master's degree at the University of Illinois, along with an administration certificate from Aurora University. She received her bachelor of science in elementary education at Illinois State University.

A group of four talented finalists were selected following the first round of interviews. The four candidates then participated in an interview process on June 16, 2014 consisting of an administrative panel.

Candidates interviewed with an interview team composed of four elementary administrators and a district office administrator. Two candidates emerged from the second round of interviews.

In the final round of interviews on June 19, the candidates completed an in-depth interview process with the full K-5 Administrative Team. Webster emerged as the top candidate. She will begin her contract on July 1, 2014 at a salary of $33,000 plus benefits.
