Flash stymies Red Stars, 2-0

Missing five players who were called up for national team duty, the short-handed Chicago Red Stars failed to score against the Western New York Flash on Wednesday night in Rochester, N.Y., falling 2-0.

Brittany Taylor gave the Flash (5-6-2, 17 points) an early lead as she scored off a corner kick in the second minute of the game. Sam Kelly added an unassisted goal in stoppage time.

The Red Stars (6-5-2, 20 points) now head to Kansas City on Saturday for their third match of the week.
