Rideshare program deserves a chance

As the General Assembly is working to draft regulations for rideshare services like UBERx, I traveled to Springfield recently to speak with Sen. Kirk Dillard about my experience as a driver.

Partnering with Uber has allowed me economic security I never would have been able to attain. By driving on the Uber platform, I am able to earn extra income while exploring the city. And the best part, I have total flexibility, allowing me to work whenever I want to. Life is expensive, but rideshare helps me to get by.

In Chicago, rideshare has become known for fast and reliable service. I've had residents, vacationers and business travelers all in my car. All have become accustomed to opening their app and shortly thereafter seeing a car arrive.

The current legislation imposes strict requirements and would likely eliminate rideshare. I'm disappointed state legislators, who should be focused on creating jobs, may be taking mine away.

Please, Sen. Dillard, vote to preserve rideshare.
