Farmers Market at St. John's Opens June 4

St. John's Episcopal Church, located at 750 Aurora Ave., Naperville, will host its farmers market for the second year this summer. The Farmers Market at St. John's runs every Wednesday from 3 pm to 7 pm, beginning June 4 through September 24 (closed July 2). The market has expanded to feature more vendors this year, offering a wider variety of seasonally fresh vegetables and fruits, as well as meats, eggs, smoked fish, cheese, breads, baked goods, honey, fresh cut flowers, plants, herbs, teas, spices, oils and vinegars, sauces, table linens, jewelry, soaps and other fine offerings from local vendors.

"We are excited to build upon the success of last year's farmers market," says Rev. Verna Fair, pastor of St. John's Episcopal Church. "Being able to expand the market allows St. John's to make a bigger impact on our outreach initiatives while supporting local businesses and offering a service to the community at-large."

Vendors pay a rental fee for use of St. John's parking lot to sell their products directly to the public over the 16-week period. The net proceeds of the vendor fees from the farmers market will help fund St. John's outreach initiatives. St. John's outreach includes youth mission trips and support a range of organizations from local to international, such as Loaves and Fishes, Hesed House, Trinity Sandwich Board, Lifespring, Cathedral Shelter of Chicago, Holy Family Ministries and Feed My Starving Children.
