Mark Seigle speaks at Elgin chamber's CEO Unplugged luncheon

The luncheon will be held on Wednesday, May 7, in the Fox River Room at the Grand Victoria Casino pavilion, 250 S. Grove Ave., Elgin. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with luncheon at noon. As an experienced executive in the family business, Seigle's Center (Elgin Lumber Company), Seigle transitioned through the sale of Seigle's Center, his family's company that was established in 1881. More than a century later, the family-owned company was listed as one of the top 50 building materials dealers nationwide. No other supplier in the Chicago market rivaled the scope and breadth of Seigle's.
In 2005, Seigle's was acquired by Stock Building Supply becoming part of the nation's largest building material dealer. In light of the market conditions and slow growth of home sales, Stock exited the market.
In 2009 Mark Seigle and his family, including his brother Harry Seigle, reacquired the cabinetry operation and today they are the largest distributor of kitchen and bath cabinetry and countertops in the Chicago market.
Mark Seigle is president of Seigle's Cabinet Center and partner, Seigle Investments LLC (Real-Estate Development). He, along with his brother Harry, are committed to improving the community, like their father Harold, and founded the Seigle Family Foundation in 1980. A basic tenet of the company's history and mission calls on Seigle's to provide the community with "the benefits of quality corporate citizenship."
Seigle is a graduate of the University of Michigan, Bachelor of Business Administration, 1980. He has received a number of honors, including the "Distinguished Service Award" from the Cosmopolitan Club of Elgin; Associate of the Year-Home Builders Association of Greater Chicago; Distinguished Leader Award-Sears, Roebuck and Company; Who's Who in Chicago Business-Crain's Chicago Business; and Retailer of the Year-Building Supply Home Centers.
Seigle has been married for 30 years to Robin Friend Seigle and they have two adult children, Margot and Joel.
