Naperville man held on child porn charges

A 57-year-old Naperville man is being held on $150,000 bond after being charged with six counts of possession of child pornography.

Assistant State's Attorney Bethany Jackson said Jeffrey A. Wright of the 700 block of Royal St. George was taken into custody Thursday after a three-month investigation of files being downloaded to his home IP address.

Police, working in conjunction with the Will County State's Attorney's High-Technology Crimes Unit, said they executed a search warrant after determining Wright, who works for the U.S. Census Bureau, had downloaded and shared files containing child pornography.

"(Wright) had many depictions of child pornography on his computer and told officers he's been downloading it for years," Jackson said during Wright's bond hearing.

Wright is next due in court on April 17. Should he post bond, Wright is also prohibited from any computer and Internet use and is to have no contact with anyone younger than 18.
