Errors cost Grayslake Central

Grayslake Central in Florida: Grayslake Central dropped its game on Monday in Florida to Sylvan Hills of Arkansas, 4-1.

The Rams had 3 costly errors as pitcher Freddie Landers, making his first career start, allowed 2 earned runs over four innings.

Over the weekend, Grayslake Central split its first two games, a 2-1 loss to Moon Area of Pennsylvania and then a 3-0 win over Elizabeth Forward of Kentucky.

In the win, pitcher Justin Guryn fired a complete game no-hitter. The lefty struck out 10 batters and walked just two.

"Justin really pounded the zone with first-pitch strikes and we played solid defense behind him," Grayslake Central coach Troy Whalen said. It's a great start to the season for him, without a doubt. No-hitters are special."
