PAFA Spirit Registration Now Open

PAFA Spirit offers girls in grades 3 through 8 the opportunity to participate on a Cheer or Poms team in support of the Palatine Amateur Football Association's travel football program. Football games are played in Palatine and surrounding suburbs on weekends from August to November. The PAFA Spirit season will begin in late July with a one week skills camp followed by weekly practices. In addition to performances at games, the older grades will also participate in various competitions throughout the season.

The primary focus of the program is teaching sideline cheers and halftime routines in preparation for junior high and high school cheer. Older squads in 5th through 8th grades will have the opportunity to participate in competitions during the season.

PAFA Poms is for girls in grades 6 through 8. The primary focus is on teaching poms skills through halftime routines in preparation for junior high and high school poms. Poms squads perform at two football games each weekend the Panthers are home, and squads have the opportunity to participate in competitions during the season.

PAFA Spirit registration is available until June 1 through the Palatine Park District, and an early bird discount of $10 is available through March 31. Registration can be completed online at www.palatineparks.org, by mail, fax, drop off, or in person at Community Center, Birchwood Recreation Center or Falcon Park Recreation Center.

In 2014, PAFA Spirit had seven teams compete in IRCA competitions, with five of those teams earning bids to State.Throughout the season, various PAFA Spirit teams brought home a total of seven first place awards, along with many 2nd and 3rd designations.
