No one injured in Palatine garage fire

No one was injured in a garage fire at a Palatine home on Thursday, officials said.

The Palatine Fire Department was called to a home on the 800 block of West Kelly Ann Drive at 11:40 a.m. and found smoke coming from an attached garage, according to a news release.

The fire was contained to the garage, but smoke traveled throughout the house, officials said.

"Working smoke detectors in the house alerted both of the sleeping residents to the fire in the garage, and they were able to evacuate the house prior to the fire department's arrival," the release said.

A damage estimate for the home is not yet available.

Firefighters are still investigating the cause of the fire, according to the release.
