Religious education in high schools?

There is so much debate, even hatred and violence over religion. Maybe if everyone understood each others religions more, that understanding might create some common ground and result in more tolerance.

What if it was required that all high school students take a class that laid out the beliefs of Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Jehovah's Witnesses, Judaism, Mormonism and Hinduism in a noncritical way? Not only might it help people be more tolerant when interacting with others but it also would allow young people the opportunity to really decide for themselves, based on the facts, what they want to believe going forward as they begin their adult lives.
