Extension of benefits a losing proposal

When the president goes on TV and pleads for the extension of unemployment benefits, it’s pretty hard to oppose him without being labeled as heartless and not caring, but when is enough enough? These are extension that go back years — maybe they should be declared permanent benefits for the unemployed!

The president claims to have the pulse of the nation, citing his record as senator and on. Then he should know when you start getting unemployment benefits you don’t actually look for a job while your receiving benefits you only seriously start looking for a job when the benefits run out.

With 3.5 million jobs unfilled in America today and the Democrats claiming that we’re in the middle of a recovery, are we really doing the country any good with perpetual extensions of unemployment benefits?
