Elburn couple take top prize in 'Light Fight'

An Elburn couple and a team of their close friends who created a million-light Christmas display won the grand prize Monday evening in ABC 7's “The Great Christmas Light Fight.”

Brian and Angela Larsen typically create a light display to behold outside their home at 42W891 Beith Road. As a result, they were invited to compete to create the most spectacular outdoor display in just three weeks — a feat that typically takes months.

They were among eight families judged by Michael Moloney and Sabrina Soto, hosts of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition.”

After the Larsen Light Display took top honors, Brian says he has big plans for the prize money.

“I'm going to use it and pay someone to take it all down,” he said, with a big laugh.

The display runs through Jan. 2. Shows are from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 p.m. through 12:30 a.m. Videos of many of his displays and other info is at larsenlightshow.com.
