Father Christmas visiting Kline Creek Farm

Father Christmas will be the star of the show this month when Kline Creek Farm celebrates Victorian holiday traditions.

Christmas on the Farm will be presented from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 7 and 8, at the farm, 1N600 County Farm Road, West Chicago. The 1800s-style farm is operated by the DuPage County Forest Preserve District.

Father Christmas will share the spirit of the season and take photos with visitors. Holiday activities will be held throughout the farmstead and include caroling and sipping hot cider near a warming fire.

The historic farmhouse also will offer a look back at typical holiday preparations of the 1890s during Christmas Memories House Tours, offered 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursdays through Mondays through Dec. 30.

Visitors will see the house decked in festive greens, savor the aroma of seasonal treats, and see the table set for company.

Both programs are free and suitable for all ages. Registration is not required.
