Benefits 1 percent, offends 50 percent

Illinois lawmakers continue to disappoint. With mounting debt, unfunded pensions, credit rating downgrades, which they have neither the will or negotiating skills to deal with, they have managed instead to put all their efforts into passing a bill, Senate Bill 10, legalizing same sex marriage, that benefits a mere 1 to 2 percent of the population of this state, while it offends the moral and religious beliefs of probably half of that population.

And now the bill has been signed on the Abraham Lincoln desk equating the approval of same sex marriage with the freeing of the slaves.

African-Americans everywhere should be outraged. If you think the government in Springfield is dysfunctional and not respectful of your values, it’s time to elect new leaders.
