Schaumburg launches holiday shopping safety campaign

The Schaumburg Police Department is launching a holiday shopping safety campaign to coincide with this weekend’s retail bonanza.

Working closely with Schaumburg’s retail, commercial and restaurant businesses, the department aims to use social media, posters and public service announcements to prevent thefts related to the shopping season running from Thanksgiving through Christmas. Several public service announcements related to shopping safety and crime prevention tips will be posted on the village’s Facebook page and YouTube account.

Woodfield Mall will also display posters announcing the “Be Aware. Be Active.” campaign.
