About 45,000 runners will take part in this Sunday's Chicago Marathon. The elite will be in it to win it, but most entrants have more modest goals like, say, finishing in less than four hours.
Survival would be my only aim. (As a general rule, I don't run unless someone is chasing me.)
I'm in awe of folks like Daily Herald opinion page editor Jim Slusher, who has run in several marathons, and high school sports editor Aaron Gabriel, who won all-American honors for his age group in a long-distance open-water swim in 2012.
Can you brag about similar athletic accomplishments? Do your sports glory days include winning a state championship or MVP award?
Do you have any aspirations like climbing a mountain or biking across the country?
