Hultgren’s views are too radical

Please join me in telling Randy Hultgren his views are too radical for our county. I am outraged that he supports shutting down our government in a crazy attempt to stop the Affordable Care Act from fully implementing. The U.S. House has already taken 41 votes which did nothing. Couldn’t he and others be spending their time more productively working out compromises that would help us?

The ACA has already helped many citizens through at slowing the rise of costs. Soon those with pre-existing conditions no longer need to worry about being denied or cut off from help when it is needed most. Even young people need health insurance. A friends’ son was sick and had no insurance at work. Stop the scare tactics, please.

Hultgren voted in favor of cutting food stamps, SNAP. Are we so desperate that we must cut the safety net for our most vulnerable? Ask him to live on $5/day for food. I have been a hunger advocate for nearly 30 years. SNAP is a proven program and until recently had bipartisan support for decades.

Call his office at (202) 225-2976. Ask him to get accurate information about hunger and health care in our county and country. Tell him we do not want the government shut down or to default on loans that hurts real people.
