타 Michael P. Hayes, 25, of the 0-99 block of North 12th Street, St. Charles, was charged with resisting a police officer at 8:59 a.m. Friday after a deputy went to Hayes’ residence to serve a DUI warrant issued by Kane County, according to a sheriff’s report. Hayes, who was on parole, is accused of shutting the door in the deputy’s face and refusing orders to lie on the floor after the deputy entered the home, the report said.

타 About $1,000 damage was caused when someone spray-painted four windows between 9 p.m. Saturday and 10:30 a.m. Sunday on a 1997 Chevy Cavalier on the 42W100 block of Hughes Road near Elburn.

타 Two copper bars were stolen between March 15 and Monday from the base of a cell tower on the 400 block of Triggs Road near Elgin.

타 Darnel T. Martinez, 42, of the 500 block of Waterford Drive, Oswego, was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol at 4:38 a.m. Sunday after his car ran out of gas near Keslinger and Pousley Roads near Elburn, according to a sheriff’s report.
