Palatine library to celebrate 20 years at current location

The Palatine Public Library District is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the main library’s location at 700 N. North Court this year. To commemorate the milestone, the library will hold a weekend of learning, music, food and games on Sept. 21-22. Saturday includes performances by Duncan Yo-Yo champion Barry North and singer/songwriter Jim Green, as well as various activities booths and cheese samples from Whole Foods Market in Kildeer. Irish folk band Ploughboys will perform on Sunday. Library district cardholders also can enter a number of prize drawings.
