One injured in Arlington Heights crash

A 69-year-old Arlington Heights woman suffered minor injuries after running a red light about 5 p.m. Tuesday at East Hintz Road and North Windsor Drive in Arlington Heights, hitting another car, destroying an electrical box and damaging a tree, said Arlington Heights police Sgt. Chuck Buczynski.

The woman was headed south on Windsor in her 2009 Chevy Traverse when she went through a red light and struck a 1994 Honda Accord driven by a 33-year-old Mount Prospect man, who was not injured.

The woman was ticketed for disobeying a traffic control device, no insurance and property damage. She was taken to Northwest Community Hospital with minor injuries.

Buczynski said officers were on the scene for 90 minutes to direct traffic before power could be restored to streetlights.
