Park district should try sharing facilities

I recently read of the new addition to Camelot Park, I’m sure it will be a wonderful facility. However, once again, we are building another gym.

I would note that we have one high school, two middle schools and a large number of grade schools throughout our community, most of which have gyms. In most cases, these facilities remain unused most nights, weekends and summers.

Instead of building more, why not enter into an intergovernmental agreement to utilize these existing facilities? We could save tax dollars (or address additional needed improvements) along with maximizing the benefits of tax dollars already spent.
