Palatine Park in Coca Cola America Is Your Park Contest

Tom T. Hamilton Reservoir, located at 1037 North Smith Street in Palatine, is home to the Ron Gbur Sports Fields featuring athletic fields for soccer, football, baseball and softball. The park also offers two picnic shelters, a playground, and a path around the park that provides access to the Palatine Trail.

Palatine Park District is asking our residents and visitors to share how much we love our park with the entire country. Hamilton is entered in the Coca-Cola “America is Your Park” Contest for 2013. The 1st through 3rd place winners of the contest will receive $100,000, $50,000 and $25,000 grants, respectively, to restore, rebuild, or enhance places within the park where people can be active. The 4th through 25th place winners will be placed into a random drawing for an additional $15,000 grant.

Voting ends on July 14 and voting can be done in three ways. Anyone age 13 and over is eligible to vote.

a. Click. (Online Voting): Through July 14, visit www.Coke.com/parks (using your computer or mobile device) to cast your vote. Log in to your My Coke Rewards Account if you already have one or create a new account with a few simple steps. Follow the links and instructions to register or log in. Then, follow the links and instructions to locate Hamilton in Palatine using zip code 60067 to search. You are allowed one online vote each day.

b. Check In. (Checking in via Foursquare): You may also check in at a Park using an Internet-connected device and the Foursquare application. Before voting, you must log in to your CC/MCR Account, link your Foursquare account to the Contest by visiting www.Coke.com/parks and accepting permissions. Once linked, you will be allowed one eligible check in per Day from Hamilton that will earn Five votes for the Park.

c. Get Active. (MapMyFitness Activity): Through July 14, you may earn votes for Hamilton through logging activity using MapMyFitness. First, log in to your CC/MCR Account, then link your MapMyFitness account to the Contest by visiting www.Coke.com/parks and accepting permissions. Once linked, you must log 20 minutes or more of activity per day to earn ten votes for the Park. You may do so once per day. All MapMyFitness activity must be logged and synced before the Contest Period ends in order to count toward voting.

Double Vote days will be offered on June 21, July 13 and July 14, 2013, from 12:00 a.m. ET until 11:59 p.m. ET. On these dates, when you vote online, check in via Foursquare, or log activity using MapMyFitness, your vote count will be doubled! For example, each online vote will be worth 2 votes, each check-in will be worth 10 votes and at least 20 minutes of logged activity will be worth 20 votes.
