District 214 mourns longtime dean

Two Northwest Suburban High Schools are mourning the loss of an administrator who died this week.

Craig Kincaid, who worked as a dean at Buffalo Grove High School for 10 years and had just transferred this year to Wheeling High School, died on Tuesday, said Buffalo Grove Principal Carol Burlinski.

Kincaid had been fighting health issues for some time but was still working until a week or two ago, she said.

“He was just a great kid-connector. He brought out the best in kids,” Burlinski said. “He was a wonderful educator, a wonderful man. We’re really going to miss him dearly.”

Kincaid was married and had two sons.

A Facebook page remembering Kincaid had more than 3,500 likes on Thursday.

Visitation for Kincaid will be from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 8, at Salerno’s Funeral Home, 450 W. Lake St., Roselle.
