IC’s Conenna throws no-hitter

Jessica Conenna tossed a no-hitter, striking out 13 while allowing just one walk, and IC Catholic Prep banged out 17 hits in beating Momence 8-0 on Friday at the Lisle Tournament.

Gabby Curran went 3-for-4 with a double, 2 runs scored and an RBI, Conenna was 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI and Brenna Langan, Maria Kieliszewski, Anjella Farmer and Melissa Gonzalez each had 2 hits for IC (16-9).

St. Francis 10, Chicago Christian 1:Ali Dittrich hit a 3-run homer and Maggie Remus (16-0) threw another strong outing for the Spartans (19-3, 10-1 Suburban Christian Conference Blue), who won their eighth straight game.Montini 11, Ridgewood 1:Alyssa Sclafani#146;s 3-run homer, her eighth of the year, finished off a five-inning win at the Niles West Tournament. Sclafani also doubled twice and Zoe Dannenberg struck out six and doubled for Montini (21-6).Glenbard West 4, Lyons Twp. 1:Taylor Langtry tossed a 5-hitter, striking out eight, for the Hilltoppers in Glen Ellyn. Emi Pavia was 2-for-3 with an RBI and Rachel Terwilliger drove in 2 runs.West Aurora 3, Naperville North 2:Molly Jordan#146;s two-out, 2-run single capped off a three-run fifth, the Blackhawks rallying in Aurora. Rachel Aiardo homered and drove in 2 runs and Alexis Solak was 2-for-4 for Naperville North (13-10, 6-6 DuPage Valley Conference).
