Buffalo Grove leads MSL tourney after doubles

Buffalo Grove earned first-place points from its No. 2, 4 and 5 doubles teams to take the lead in the Mid-Suburban League badminton tournament Friday.

The tournament hosts have 22 points, ahead of second-place Fremd (20.5) and third-place Prospect (17). Palatine (14.5) is fourth, followed by Hersey (12.5) and Barrington and Elk Grove (6.5 each).

Fremd had the top finish at No. 3 doubles, and Prospect had a winner at No. 1 doubles.

The singles portion of the tournament continues Saturday at Buffalo Grove.
