Kane County

• Someone tried to pry open the front door of a home in the 43W600 block of Kenmar Drive near Elburn between 9 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. Friday, but nothing was taken from the home, according to a sheriff's report.

• Jesus I. Buenrostro, 21, of the 100 block of Laurel Drive, North Aurora, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop for disobeying a stop sign at 11:20 p.m. Friday at North Farnsworth Road and Grand Avenue near Aurora, according to a sheriff's report. The deputy smelled marijuana smoke in the vehicle and searched it, finding 24 grams of marijuana and a scale, the report said.

• Someone kicked the side of a car, knocking off the side view mirror, at about 11:57 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Blackjacks Gentlemen's Club, 7N657 Route 25, near South Elgin, according to a sheriff's report.

• A 51-inch plasma television, safe and other items were stolen from a home in the 600 block of Parker Avenue near Aurora between 3:30 and 9:15 p.m. Monday, according to a sheriff's report.
