Time for fresh face in Winfield
Time for fresh face in Winfield
Having been the first Winfield United President I would like to say I am endorsing Rob Hanlon for village president. Rob Hanlon has “the right stuff” to lead us, the residents and the village board through these contentious times.
The village board right now seems very divided struggling with financial issues and is getting nowhere. Rob, with his MBA from the University of Chicago and managing financials for his employer as the Chief Information Officer, brings a wealth of knowledge necessary for this top job. As Winfield’s former Mayor I understand the job, its duties and responsibilities and believe Rob Hanlon is who we need now. Most importantly, he is a good listener.
Winfield needs an independent elected Mayor, not someone currently on the village board. Hanlon is that individual and a new face with fresh ideas during these challenging times. He will be an objective leader, someone not answerable to either side of this divided board, but to us residents. Rob will take good ideas from everyone and move them forward, while his opponent represents one side, Winfield United. Rob will get us through this Roosevelt Road debacle and can achieve compromise between the two sides. Rob understands the dilemma the village is facing with tax increase referendums failing and this is where his financial background is surely an asset. After eight years of Winfield United’s leadership it’s time for a change.
Rob Hanlon supports having the Winfield police. As a family man, married with two kids he understands the necessity of maintaining a village police force. He not only wants to keep the police but would like to find a way to hire more officers. Hanlon did not participate in previous closed door meetings regarding the police outsourcing issue like his opponent.
