Return marriage to the church

The secular government should not be in the business of marriage. Marriage is a sacrament from God to unite one man and one woman to form a family and have offspring to populate the next generation.

There is no divorce in marriage. The only way to dissolve a true marriage is by an annulment. Entering into a marriage is not something to be taken lightly.

On the other hand, we have the secular government’s version of “marriage”; take your vows today, file for a divorce tomorrow. It is made even more ridiculous by the Hollywood “elite,” many of whom do it regularly, like taking a vacation.

So here’s the deal; return marriage to the church where it belongs. Let the secular government form and dissolve “Civil Unions” for lack of a better name. The partner(s) in the “Civil Union” would have the same legal rights as those in a marriage without exception.

This will prevent the secular government from making a mockery of marriage. They can form whatever unions they see fit; heterosexual, homosexual, with your pet goat, whatever. This would eliminate many, if not all, objections. All the special interest groups could lobby the government for inclusion into the “Civil Unions” without interference from those who value traditional marriage.

What could be easier?
