Mt. Prospect man charged in drugstore thefts

A Mount Prospect man faces multiple misdemeanor and felony retail theft charges in connection with thefts Sunday of hundreds of dollars in over-the-counter medications at four drugstores in Arlington Heights and Mount Prospect.

Aristotle I. Jongko, 29, of the 100 block of North Yates Lane, was arrested Sunday.

He was charged with felony retail theft and misdemeanor retail theft after he admitted stealing over-the-counter medications from two Arlington Heights Walgreens, police reports said. The value of the medication was estimated at $234 from 3 E. Golf Road and at $794 from 1000 E. Northwest Hwy. Officers recovered some of the merchandise,

Security videos in the two Walgreens stores showed Jongko hiding the items under his shirt, police said. His court date in the Arlington Heights cases is March 26.

In Mount Prospect, Jongko was charged with thefts from the CVS at 1002 S. Busse Road and the Walgreens at 1028 S. Elmhurst Road, police said. Details on those thefts weren’t available Wednesday because paperwork was still being completed. His court date in the Mount Prospect cases is March 12.
