Harper program shows high schools’ failings

The Harper College and feeder high school success touted in your Feb. 15 editorial raises more questions than it answers. Where are the changes to curriculum, teaching and counseling at Districts 214, 211 and 220? Are the local high schools now conceding their teaching responsibilities to a junior college? Is this process continuing to push students and parents to incur more unnecessary debts?

As a taxpayer, why do I have to incur more property taxes to fill in for high school shortcomings or lack of student interest in learning? All I see here is are college professors taking on more taxpayer subsidized work to bail out the shortcomings of high schools. All of this to help high school kids master remedial math?

The real news here is that now all kids in high school will be able to say they are taking college classes while in high school.
