Schuler could be in for raise starting in July

The Kaneland 302 school board tonight will consider raising the pay of Superintendent Jeff Schuler.

In the proposed amendment to his contract, which runs through June 2016, Schuler’s base pay would be raised to $175,000 in July. In 2014 and 2015, the base would be increased the lesser of 3 percent or the rate of inflation as determined by the Consumer Price Index.

In other business tonight, the board is expected to learn why the number of students receiving free lunches has climbed by 35 percent this year, and how it will affect the budget.

The board meets at 7 p.m. at Kaneland Harter Middle School, 1601 Esker Drive, Sugar Grove.
