Hersey Orchesis presents ‘Captivate’

John Hersey High School’s Orchesis, under the direction of Jennifer Foss, will present its main show of the year, “Captivate,” at 7:30 p.m. Thursday through Saturday, Feb. 21-23, in the school theater, with an additional 2 p.m. Saturday matinee. Tickets are $6 for students and seniors and $7 for adults.

Last August, Hersey Orchesis was privileged to work with Lindsey LaFountain, a Gus Giordano dancer. Hersey dancers spent hours working on Giordano Jazz technique, as well as learning a work featured in the upcoming performance.

This piece was also presented in the Gus Giordano Dance Project on Feb. 2, which included performers from many local high schools as well as local studios. Hersey dancers who performed there included the following: Emily McCluskey, Casey Gunther, Alisyn Greenfield, Katie Kowols, Samantha Schiller, Danielle Rivard, Erin Johnson, Brianna Ulbert, Elena Lindstrum, Anne Barton, Abby Farrell, and Andrea Marti.

To learn more about the Hersey dance program or to order tickets to the show, email Foss at jennifer.foss@d214.org or call (847) 718-4983.
