Read a classic and possibly win a Google Nexus 7 tablet

Chilly winter days are a great time to curl up with a good book - or ebook.

To provide a little extra incentive, Cook Library District is bringing back the adult winter reading club.

Through Feb. 28, high school and adult patrons are invited to "Plug Into the Past" and eREAD a classic book.

A library card is all one needs to access the library's large selection of ebook classics that are available from www.mymediamall.net and it's Duke Classics "always available" subscription. Download any of these titles using a smartphone, tablet or home computer and the free software or app provided by OverDrive. Reading a classic in print or audiobook will also be accepted.

Read one classic title and fill out the book review form by February 28 noting if you like the book and why, and you will be entered into a drawing for a Google Nexus 7 Tablet! The book review forms are available at the Cook Park Library and Aspen Drive Library reference desks, on the Bookmobile or at www.cooklib.org under the Books, Movies & Music/Reader Services link. For more information or help choosing a classic title, call (847) 362-2330 and ask for the Reference Desk.
