Growing roses in Northern Illinois

The "Growing roses in Northern Illinois" course consists of two parts: five theory lessons held at Libertyville High School, and five lessons held at the Lynn Arthur Rose Garden in downtown Libertyville.

Theory classes will cover selection of roses for this area, site selection and ground preparation, diseases and prevention, fertilization and general maintenance, and providing winter protection.

The five field lessons will be spaced throughout the summer so that participants will be able to select lessons at their convenience.

The exact schedule, which would depend on growing conditions next season, will be posted later.

Class begins on March 14, so register today.
