Earth and Ocean restaurant, acclaimed chef coming to Randhurst

Mount Prospect’s Randhurst Village is about to increase its rapidly spreading restaurant footprint.

On Tuesday, the village board approved a liquor license for E & O Food and Drink, which plans to open Earth and Ocean restaurant in the revamped shopping center by Feb. 11.

“We are delivering on the New American genre of cuisine,” said Aeron Lancero, one of the restaurant’s owners.

He promised Asian fare such as Sushi, as well as some Italian items with fresh pasta. The restaurant will also offer Mediterranean fare and vegetarian dishes.

“We do have a double-decker oven, so there will be some flat bread pizzas available as well,” he added.

The restaurant will boast the culinary creativity of owner and chef Rodelio Aglibot, the founding chef at Sunda in Chicago who has been showcased on local TV as the “Food Buddha.”

Lancero said the venue will house nearly 40 tables and approximately 170 seats.

Randhurst is blooming with restaurant venues since it officially reopened in 2011. The roster includes the BlackFinn American Grill, Buffalo Wild Wings, Panera Bread, Tony Sacco’s Coal Oven Pizza and the Billy Goat Tavern.

“There is a vibrance on the Main Street there, with the restaurants and the movies and stores and so on, and you’re going to add to that in a big way,” Trustee Paul Hoefert told Lancero.
