Grayslake man accused of stealing from Allstate

A Grayslake man has been arrested after an investigation showed he took more than $700,000 from his former employer, according to the Cook County sheriff’s office.

Ricardo Campos Jr., 36, was arrested at his home Wednesday morning.

Campos had worked at the Allstate Insurance Co. headquarters in Northbrook for 10 years before being terminated this past summer after an internal investigation.

Allstate contacted the sheriff’s financial crimes unit in July to report that Campos, a former senior claims manager, had embezzled money from the company, the sheriff’s office said..

In the last five years, Campos altered computer records on four accounts of deceased beneficiaries, directing the annuity payments to his personal bank account, the sheriff’s office said.

Campos is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
