Thanks for support of volleyball team

As a member of the Glenbard West girl’s volleyball team, I would just like to take a moment to thank everyone who came to our matches this season. The support we received from the community meant so much to us and was undeniably a factor in winning many close games.

When I was a freshman, the only people in the stands were the parents of the players. I couldn’t even get my own brother to come to the games. This year, I was lucky enough to not only have my brother come to every single game, but was also cheered on by a numerous amount of his friends and other students. Having people watch and care about the outcome of our games was such a wonderful feeling.

Although the players play the game, the fans have a large influence. Momentum and energy play such a crucial role in a volleyball match. We are so grateful for all the people who made our 37-3 season possible. We cannot thank enough the people who came to our last game, about an hour away, on the same day that our football team was playing in the playoffs. The amount of dedication these people showed was, quite frankly, both inspiring and heartwarming.

I think I speak for all sports teams, especially the volleyball team, when I say how important fan support is. Regardless of how the season turned out, we all appreciate every mom, grandma, and neighbor who watched our games. Thank you to everyone who helped make our Glenbard West volleyball season a success.
