Long Grove Charity Run/Walk - Great Weather, Big Success

The 15th Annual Long Grove Heritage Event was held on September 8 with 10 charities participating. The event is organized annually by the Rotary Club of Long Grove. Over 350 competed in the 5K run, while nearly 600 took part in the more leisurely 3K run. Many others and the participants all had a great pancake and sausage breakfast after the run and walk.

The overall women's winner in the 5K was Heather Nadeau, Chicago, whose time was 21:13. She ran for the Michael P. Savoca Foundation, a local organization dedicated to finding a cure for pulmonary fibrosis. The men's winner was Nathan Cummings, Grayslake, with a time of 18:28. He ran for OMNI Youth Services.

The other eight charities participating were the Center On Deafness, the Christopher Steele Foundation, Exodus World Service, Faith Acres Foundation, Harley Helping Hands Foundation, Little Giraffe Foundation, Mothers' Milk Bank of the Western Great Lakes, and PADS of Lake County.
